Since the launch of the LI-600 new product trial activity (click to view details), we have received trial applications from many scientists. How did they evaluate this new instrument after the trial? Come on, let's take a look together~
Susanne von Caemmerer | Australian National University
Canberra, Australia
Professor Susanne and Technical Director Soumi Bala used LI-600 to measure the stomatal conductance and electron transfer rate of tobacco and dog sage leaves.
The measurement results of LI-600 and LI-6800 are highly consistent.
Susanne works at the School of Biology, Australian National University. She and technical director Soumi Bala used LI-600 to measure tobacco and dog sage leaves. They compared the data collected by LI-6800 under the same environmental conditions and found that the two were highly consistent.
Susanne is a member of the Australian Academy of Sciences, the Leopoldina Academy of Sciences in Germany, and the United Kingdom*Academician of the Society, an outstanding plant physiologist.
Nathan Lemoine | Marquette University
Wisconsin, United States
We measured the photosynthetic gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of White Campion using LI-600.
This is a genotype environment interaction experiment aimed at identifying physiological or biological traits of plants adapted to drought stress. We are trying to answer: (1) Will differences in genotype lead to differences in plant drought resistance? (2) What are the differences in drought resistance strategies among plants of different genotypes?
We have two LI-6800 machines for measuring the carbon dioxide response curve (A-Ci Curve) of blades. This type of data has a large amount of information, but the measurement is time-consuming. The LI-600 fluorescence stomatal measuring instrument is more like a "snapshot" tool, and we measured 60 plants in less than an hour. LI-600 helped us obtain "high-resolution" time series data on plant responses to drought stress.
Dr. Brett Wolfe | Louisiana State University
Louisiana, United States
Compared to LI-1600, LI-600 is a huge improvement.
Dr. Brett Wolfe is an assistant professor at the School of Renewable Natural Resources at Louisiana State University. He used LI-600 to measure the leaves of oak trees. The LI-600 is very user-friendly, and I particularly like its QR code/barcode scanning function. ”
Boris Lazarevi? PhD | University of Zagreb
Croatia
LI-600 is measuring too fast! I can't quite believe my actions.
In the experiment, Boris Lazarevi? The doctor measured a set of common kidney bean leaves to evaluate the effects of origin and morphology on stomatal conductance and chlorophyll fluorescence. In the second experiment, he used LI-600 to measure stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, leaf temperature, and chlorophyll fluorescence of basil leaves with different growth light intensities. The LI-600 is easy to operate and has a very fast measurement speed. ”He added, 'The use of LI-600 should be very extensive: it can play a role in plant physiology, ecology, phenotype, or breeding research.'. ”
Kellie Walters | University of Tennessee
Tennessee, United States
The LI-600 measurement is very accurate.
For Kellie Walters, the LI-600 trial event is just the right time. The measurement speed of LI-600 is very fast. It can tell you the timing to clamp the blade for measurement. The leaves of lettuce are very thin and easily damaged during measurement, but the force of LI-600 gripping the leaves is very gentle. ”
Taylor Lowey | O'Dominion University
Virginia, United States
Aquatic plant ecologist Taylor Lowey measured wetland plants using LI-600.
LI-600 is suitable for any study that requires observation of stomatal conductance and chlorophyll fluorescence.
Dr. Slowy is a wetland ecologist whose research focuses on habitat restoration and ecosystem management, with a particular emphasis on the impact of ecological processes (hydrology, soil physical chemistry, biology) on wetland plants.
LI-600 is an ideal measuring tool. It is compact in size and can provide high-quality fluorescence and water use efficiency data. It seems to measure data more accurately than other handheld fluorescence meters. ”
Aaron Hogan | Florida International University
Florida, United States
Aaron Hogan, a tropical plant ecologist, measured over 40 tropical plants using the LI-600, ranging from the turtle backed bamboo to the dragon blood tree.
The performance of this instrument exceeded my expectations.
Aaron Hogan's areas of interest are tropical plant diversity and global climate change. The LI-600 utilizes advanced fluorescence measurement technology, which complements the LI-6800
Jake Emling | CropKing Inc.
Ohio, United States
Horticulturist Jake Emling measured tomatoes, lettuce, and marijuana using the LI-600.
I think this is high-throughput measurement of greenhouse plantsOne of the tools.
Jake Emling said, 'It takes only a few seconds to complete the measurement, which is very time-saving and labor-saving.'.
